I haven't fallen off the face of the earth either. Just focusing on my knew lifestyle.

I am not going to lie... there's times when I CRAVE one thing or another, but I haven't CAVED!

I don't miss bread or pizza or fried chicken, BUT I do miss POTATOES! French fries, fried potatoes, bake potatoes, potato salad, mash potatoes.... did I mention I miss POTATOES?

Today, I wanted a tortilla. Everyday I do miss something, but then I forget and that craving thought disappears from my mind.

My knee pain is at a 1... 1 being hardly any pain. I remember at the beginning I was really hurting. Getting up from my seat caused me pain. I would limp from point A to point B. I seemed to only complain about my knee on a daily basis.

I got rid of my favorite pair of jeans. I wanted to cry when I wore them one last time and knew I would no longer be able to wear them, unless I would find myself mooning the world.

My weight loss is has been slow, but it is moving down!!! 19 pounds exactly!!!! I wanted to quit at one point. I got so frustrated with my weight stall. I had to go back and remember my keto basics. My youngest sister has been on keto since February and she is one pound away from losing 50-freaking-pounds!!! I am so proud of her.

Until later....Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-35969761115009319022018-05-13T16:55:00.001-05:002018-05-13T16:55:50.579-05:00Happy Mother's DayHappy Mother's Day!

Being a mother is hard work. No one ever tells you the melt downs that come with being a mom. If you didn't know, they do happen. The advice I can share, is things get worse before they get better, BUT THEY DO GET BETTER!

Everyday can feel like it's dragging balls or time insists to push me over the edge of anxiety, but sometimes like today, I can feel a bit calm and relax.

I didn't lose a pound this week, but that's ok. I won't freak out or give up. (Not in me.)

Here's some positive news... my knee is almost "pain-free"... I kid you not! So close, but still crossing these fingers of mine! I also notice my pants are starting to feel loose around my thighs and bottom. Not that I ever had much of a butt.
Is it too soon that I may feel just a bit more confident? Perhaps... just a smidge at least.

On Thursday, my daughter had a end of year band concert for school. Now let me explain this part about me... for the most part I attend the majority of her performances... big cheerleader for Annaleigh, but when I find out about an event or performance I literally get anxiety, anxious, and I-don't-wannas, until the end. This time I arrived home. I got myself presentable, even a little bit of mascara and lipstick. Dropped her off early and attended her performance without getting any of those moods/emotions. I didn't dread the event. I was able to enjoy the concert.

Today I did have a cheat meal. It was keto until the corn tortillas, 3 to be exact and I was miserable afterwards. Choices have consequences. I should know this by now.

Until later.
Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-22684402763300002672018-05-05T19:38:00.000-05:002018-05-05T19:38:21.775-05:00Keto and CheatingLet's chat...

The past few days have been the same, especially in my moods.
Tired, not wanting to get out of bed. I snap out of the funk after about 10, usually after my bullet proof coffee.

I had a cheat meal on Friday. I repeat... I HAD A CHEAT MEAL ON FRIDAY!
I didn't exactly go overboard, but I did pitched in for pizza at work from Dominos. I ate the thin crust pizza, 6 square pieces; thinner than a saline cracker. Now that is no excuse, because I did bring lunch from home, but I didn't eat it. I am sure I did push myself out of getting in or pushing myself away from ketosis.
BUT... come dinner I was back on my next keto meal. That alone is success. What usually happens to me is, I cheat and continue to cheat and forget the diet. It goes to show that I have more motivation and determination to move forward and not kick my own ass over the mistake.

The knee pain has been steady at a 3. I am feeling discourage when it does comes to my knee pain. I cross my fingers, pray hard and hope for no knee pain. SOON!!!

Today my daughter, Annaleigh and myself went to the dreaded Mall and hit some stores. Afterwards she wanted pizza at one of our favorite restaurants, Dion's. Yes pizza again, but this time I DID NOT have a cheat meal. I ordered the small pizza and a salad and removed the croutons out of the salad. I took off the delicious cheese and pepperoni of the slice of pizza! I love the crust of this pizza, but I didn't budge and I didn't crave it. I did feel guilty for leaving the non topping pizza sitting on a paper plate. I painfully coved the plate in a proper burial with a napkin.

I think I may have to give my blog post updates every few days. Or maybe twice a week. I am going to see how I can work this in.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day... lets get those fingers crossing and hope for the 260's.... I want to be out of the 270's... It's a long time coming. Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-37575021513755095852018-05-02T22:13:00.001-05:002018-05-02T22:13:55.819-05:00Keeping It SimpleToday has been rough.
Rough night of sleep last night. Leg cramp attempt #3... I keep fighting them away!
But despite that my knee didn't hurt to bad and I almost gave my knee pain a 2, but then I went back to hurting to a 3.
Keeping it simple today.Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-26591297566215190612018-05-01T21:36:00.000-05:002018-05-01T21:36:24.640-05:00Keto Day 15Today is a bit sluggish, but I am getting in through the day.

I need to go purchase a few necessary items for my keto days ahead, such as virgin coconut oil and butter!

For lunch for the first time I had zoodles with spaghetti sauce.
The food critic in me says..."interesting bite. Not terrible, but not super fantastic either."
My eyes were bigger than my stomach. I need to make few adjustments and this is a meal to make and to eat at home kind-of-dish.

I was having a mid day crash...I felt like I needed a nap. Boo!

I got a second wind later, and did my laundry!

Do I dare say my knee pain is at a 2? Almost there, I believe....
For today it is still at a 3....Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-67368261842852009822018-04-30T19:38:00.002-05:002018-04-30T19:38:52.010-05:00Two Weeks... Done ✔It's official.... two weeks in! Longest commitment to myself! I kid you not.

I felt exhausted this morning! I literally felt as if I had just closed my eyes and had to get out of bed the next second. I dragged my butt out of bed, grumbling to work.

I snapped out of it around 10 this morning.

I was grateful for pushing myself to make my lunch last night. It had been an emotional day.

Now I am going to keep up with the blog daily. I hope it doesn't get too repetitive.

Until tomorrow!

Day 10
Apparently I am still easily irritated... boo.
Knee is still bothering me. What's new!
✔Knee pain tolerance-4

Day 11
During Lunch, the work place was having burgers and fixings. I had a bunless burger and it was still awesome. I didn't even want chips!!! Am I at a point where I can deny myself evil things like bread or sweets? Not sure.

✔Knee pain tolerance-4

Day 12
When you don't fit in the booth comfortably.
On the positive side... I put my "hell no!" on the delicious tempting rolls. I didn't even take a picture of those bastards.

I denied the cactus blossom.

I did enjoy my NY strip steak smothered in sautéed onion! The bake potato was ok... not all was eaten either! My first meal of the day too!
Here's even more positive feedback... afterward I left the restaurant not feeling disgustingly full or exhausted like I usually do!!!

Hell yeah!

I was able to head to a few stores and pick up some groceries. I am still a little perky.
✔Knee pain tolerance-3

Today/13

I am excited with today's weigh-in...4 lbs. down!!!
Thankful for not caving because honestly it was touch and go a few times.
I am feeling better. Knee pain is back to a 4. The ankle pain, gone.

The leg cramps nearly took over this morning, but I was able to stop them from happening...whew!
I feel as if I am sleeping better. I almost didn't want to admit that on here. I fear that my little smugness, may back fire. (CROSSING MY FINGERS)

I have been trying to drink my Bullet Proof Coffee without sweetener. I succeeded today. it did not taste good, but neither do I want to depend on sugar of any kind. I want to limit my intake on sweetener as well. Let's see if I can keep it up.

I seem to have my attitude in check. Not quite as irritable. I have had my moments, but few and I quickly bounce back. I don't feel as exhausted either. I usually have a crashing moment around this time, and am usually burned out. Lazy. Not right now. I feel like moving. Gasp, that's unusual for me.

I'm going to get something done, before this evening is out.Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-61186297930864410572018-04-24T19:59:00.000-05:002018-04-24T19:59:07.686-05:00Keto Day8/Week 2I am going to say that I am going on a few hours of sleep. I watched my niece last night and her mother worked late. Of course at 4:25 A.M. our 4-legged family member, Dollymae decided to bark like a lunatic! I jumped out of bed confused and stumbling... I was a mess.

To be honest, I haven't felt like keeling over, but I am getting tired.

My knee is kicking my ass today. Not sure why, but my pain is back to a 6 and now my left ankle is giving a twinge.

Here is something I realize... my upper thighs in my jeans feel loose. It's a small change that I have notice about my appearance.

My diet seems to be going good. I eat when I am hungry.

I went grocery shopping today. I should have taken a pick of my keto grocery haul. Next time.

I'm out.Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-36533387977728660192018-04-23T21:14:00.000-05:002018-04-23T21:15:08.724-05:00Catching Up Days 5/6/7

I do have a crazy headache. I haven't taken any medicine to dull the pain.

The pain in my knee is lessening even more today. Pain 0 to 10, 10 being the unimaginable pain, I am at a 5. That's less than when I first started a few days ago.

I cut my hair today and I feel good. It's like getting rid of baggage. Does that sound strange? Oh well, can't help what I feel.

This morning I was tempted to eat bread. I ordered me a breakfast bacon toaster from Sonic. I was going to eat the toast. It smelled so good. I dropped the top onto the floor! Ooops. I was determined to eat the other piece. Somehow my brain convinced me to don't eat it and to toss it into the trash. It was a close call.

I'm calling it an early night. I have to be up for a meeting that I have been dreading since they have signed me up. One of the sessions is call The Joys of Stress, can anyone freaking explain that one to me? I should think positive. I am positive this session should have been name something else.
Keeping my fingers cross that I get through my training sessions with survival.Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-73937929597853245712018-04-19T21:41:00.000-05:002018-04-19T21:41:03.455-05:00Engery Malfunction, Day 4Where are you energy?
This morning the damn 'Charlie horses' tried to make an attempt at my legs. I wasn't having it, so I jumped out of bed like I was on fire!
Problem solved, but this also means I am not getting enough salt in my diet. I may need to take potassium and magnesium supplements. I might add broth to my daily eats.

Energy is still low, and irritability has lessen.
My knee is still bothering me, but the pain is less.

I notice another positive change.

Before Keto, I had noticed tarter on my teeth, even after brushing my teeth. I literally had to carefully double check and double clean my teeth. I notice that I am not seeing tarter and my teeth look whiter.
Unexpected, and a nice change.

Tonight I am ready for bed... Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-32818109812619515252018-04-18T21:57:00.000-05:002018-04-18T21:57:34.511-05:00Hey, Hey, Day 3 This morning I was a zombie... I didn't have any motivation to move much. I felt drained.
My knee still hurts, but not as bad as yesterday.
Still irritable.

I believe I am experiencing keto flu.

I have notice a positive change on day three...

My skin (face) has stop itching. This is such a relief for me. My face would be splotchy red and patchy dry skin.

My hunger seems to be under control, unlike yesterday, I felt as if I was starving. Today I kept my carbs under 20 grams! 18 grams of carbs to be exact. No cravings either!Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-72322008696047788512018-04-17T20:13:00.000-05:002018-04-17T20:13:42.370-05:00Kicking It Keto: Day 2Today was not any better...

This morning I was extremely tired.

I was irritable.

No patience.

My knee still freaking hurts.

AND

It was like time was dragging ass!

I felt like this until noon.

Arriving home, my sense of smell was sensitive. The smell of pretzels and crackers were super strong. I admit I wanted to eat some. I don't even like pretzels and hardly eat crackers. Go figure!

"Sometimes", I can handle a mouthy teenager, but today I felt like she was over the top and I was not having it. Over the top mom, that was me.

I am more hungry today, but I have kept true to keeping keto. My carbs are at 20 grams. I met my daily goal. I have had more water to drink.

That's my report, until tomorrow.Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-48557210677299350072018-04-16T20:50:00.000-05:002018-04-16T20:50:49.370-05:00Keto Start: Day OneDay one is not too bad. At least I made it to work with some energy after having a sleepless night.

I came home and I am feeling lethargic.
My knees have been hurting, even more so.
My patience is running thin.
I'm not "hangry", but I am more irritable.

I feel as if my brain won't function normally. I am having a loss of memory and slow to grasp a simple concept. I almost feel like I lost my personality somewhere between work and the drive home.

I have been out of commission for quite sometime now. It's a wonder that I am back to blogging, life has been a bitch!

I have fought my way out of the fetal position these past years. I feel stronger mentally and emotionally. Now I am ready to tackle the physical part of me. It's time.

This time around I can't afford to be so careless with my health. I need to take care of me. I wonder why it's taken so long to figure this out. That's not true. I know my health is important, and yes, it has taken me this long to focus on me.

I am starting keto. It's not new to me and I had tried it in the past. Compared to other diets, this is the one for me. I didn't feel like I was on a diet and I felt full. I wasn't having cheat days. My aches and pains were less. I felt better.

This is how I feel today...

I look old, unhealthy, exhausted. I feel miserable, tired, overwhelmed with stress. My body is telling me how much I hurt. My skin is irritated, dry, flaky, itchy and the worst part for me is my knee pain. My mood is full of anxiety or I am quickly irritated with myself or those around me. My energy level is zilch. I don't even want to go the grocery store. I am exhausted during the day and come time for bed, I toss and turn. My mind is in full force thinking mode.

This is me documenting my keto journey. Wish me luck....

I even hate using that sentence. Luck has nothing to do with it, but complete dedication and yes those unexpected moments that kick you in the shin hard enough to bring you to your knees and feel tears slip down your face.

For the past two years I have had been kicked hard and at times I have felt like I just want to hide away and never make attempt to try anything ever again. The present has it's own issues and that is where I am at, struggling to help my mom who has had some issues with her knee and then of course when it's one thing something else happens, but she's a tough woman. I hope she knows she can count on me. She's always there for me; when I made stupid choices in love and when I been broken by betrayal. It was mom who held me up. She's my rock.

As I took more responsibility these two weeks, I realize, I really do need to take care of me first. How am I to help everyone else if I can't do simple things for me?

My first two weeks haven't gone as plan, but I do have 6 weeks left. Time to find the inner she beast... I know I'm in there somewhere. Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-87671537206253712462016-04-04T17:55:00.001-05:002016-04-04T17:55:43.737-05:008 WeeksIt started with an email... an email that reminded me that there are 8 weeks until Memorial Day.

What could I do to improve my weight loss in 8 weeks?

Log my food

Drink more water

Decrease soda

Start an exercise like walking

Cook meals at home

Take lunch to work

This is my challenge to make me, a better me. I can do this. 8 weeks is plenty of time to challenge myself. I'll never get anywhere if I can't set a goal. At the same time I am telling myself, "Wait Christine! You've tried all this before and you didn't get far..."
Alright conscience, you can back the @#%$ off!

I have a spark of motivation and ain't nothing going to step in my way! Not even my negative thoughts.

It's honest:
April is here and I am feeling better, (fingers crossed!!!)

I am getting back on track.

Here is something new, I have noticed my tummy; muffin top protruding more than usual. I literally feel like I have a spare tire and I am not the only one who has noticed it either. Annaleigh was getting into the car after school and she gasped, "MOM, you stomach looks really swollen!" Not something someone wants to hear, especially from a loved one. My mother noticed today and says "Look at your stomach!" Again, not something I want to have someone point out to me. Trust me, I have noticed, it is my body. I can see the difference. It's not good and yes I am worried.

I have to get a hold of my life. It's time to quit living in my shell. I have been at this a long time and I am tired of not moving in the right direction.

True I didn't have to do the pants dance to adjust my jeans from sliding down my butt today. Trust me almost every one has at one time or another has done the pant dance... hips shake like Shakira and wiggle the pants upwards to keep from slipping downwards.

Well it's the evening again and I have been hit once again with the shakes and if coughing up your organs were possible... I'm so miserable.

I'm full of cold medicine, but if I don't get better here soon, I may need to just take my miserable butt to the doctor.

*Water Intake: 1-2-3-4
Adding one more glass to the day, improvement still needed

Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-5889201955580360512016-03-07T18:30:00.002-06:002016-03-07T18:30:43.385-06:00Monday DilemmaTempting the carb-aholic in me.

How am I to turn down the overly sweet strawberry cinnamon roll at work? I had just had toast an hour and a half ago, now the invitation to a breakfast dessert.

The polite way would be to decline the tempting dessert or get a piece to take a bite or two and share the rest. That was my solution for the moment of weakness. Sharing has to be better than eating it all by myself.

That was this morning, tonight I am not feeling well. Coughing and feeling like I am about to catch a cold... I don't want to be sick. I hate being sick. Crossing my fingers that I can stop the cooties in their tracks.

*water intake: 1-2-3
Definitely need to up my water intake.

Monday's always make me miss the weekends!Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12855300726131380032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3816488678353567537.post-87705055875045892182016-03-06T21:33:00.000-06:002016-03-06T21:33:39.456-06:00The DownsideMy body hurts. I would use the excuse that turning 40 in November of last year is the reason for the hurting, but I know it's being fat. My unhealthy choices have caught up with me.

F-A-T... I don't think I have really ever claimed out loud of being fat. It's not a nice word and it definitely doesn't make me proud or do my self esteem any justice. I now associate being fat with pain. Not every overweight person is going to experience the same problem, but for me, it is pain with my knees. Since the last two weeks my knees have been hurting, I have been walking with a limp and popping anti-inflammatory pills to get through the day. I am miserable.

Being overweight does indeed have it's downside... and I am not to happy with it.

I apologize to myself for expecting that impossible perfection that truly doesn't exist.

I truly admire those who have themselves "together." It has been a long process to find what works for me and what hasn't. I do believe I have been in this trial and error phase for quite sometime. I put this failure label on myself when I can't win.

Once upon a time I told myself to be patient; that greatness happens with patience. I still find this to be true, but I also now realize that this "greatness" can only happen with working toward my dream. I can't expect a different outcome if I don't change or put the work towards my wants!

I'm in the dumps.
I am aloud to feel this way and I want to make every excuse in the world as to why I feel my life is stupid and unfair and whine and blah, blah, blah.

I hate feeling like this, I don't want to have sleepless nights. I don't want to worry. I am exhausted of over thinking. I am tired of emotional baggage attempting to murder my happiness.

I need to reboot... where is my restart button?

I am ready to find balance again.

I cut out the soda.

I cut out my carbs; like bread and tortillas.

I am on day 11 and my vengeance is dwindling down, but bare with me. I know exactly what is the problem. I am lacking ... can you guess by now? It's the one thing that has kept me where I am... my lack of preparation! Wah-wah-wah!

I obviously know what the problem is and it's time to find a simple solution. I know myself well and if I create a system and color code and over do it. I won't use it and it will be another forgotten attempt in problem-solving my issue.

Keep it simple.

For once I am going to use this as the beginning of every issue I may have in the future. I'll let you know how it goes, it may be a turning point for me.

On a special note:

Tomorrow is a big day for my daughter, Annaleigh. She will be a 14 year old and I will be a sobbing uncontrollably mom who will wish to keep her little girl tiny forever. I know I beg time to slow down; every holiday, every school year and at every birthday, but I can't help it. She's my world and yes I know eventually my world will go and do great things with her self and I only pray that she knows that she's amazing and strong and beautiful.
